Dashing to Komazawa, Shibuya or Shimokitazawa? Here’s your starting point.
Looking for Tokyo’s Olympic spirit or perhaps something more traditional? Why not start at the b sangenjaya? It’s near all the action, but has a seasoned ambience that will take you back in time. It’s a brief 5-minute train ride from Shibuya, the playground of teenyboppers, J-Pop fans, and fashion trend setters, very much the vortex of “Cool Japan.”
Another short train ride takes you to funky Shimokitazawa, which has been called the Greenwich Village of Japan. There you’ll find hip coffee shops, avant-garde theater and lots of second-hand clothing, toy and curio shops.
Also close by is Komazawa Olympic Park & Sports Ground, a well preserved remnant from Tokyo’s 1964 Olympics, offering a wide range of fitness and outdoor fun options, including running trails, tennis courts, sports fields, as well as, barbeque pits, museums, open-air concert halls and amphitheaters.
Don’t worry about returning late to the b. There’s a 24-hour supermarket right across the street, ready to satisfy all your late night nibbles and creature comforts. And our signature free freshly brewed coffee is always on tap in the lobby. But perhaps what makes the b sangenjaya unique is the availability of Japanese style tatami mat rooms with futon bedding. Make sure you ask about availability when you reserve.
